The registered office of the Association will be situated at Badri Mahal,
Dr.Dadabhoy Naoroji road, Bombay 400001, or at such other places in Bombay
as may be determined by the Board of Management of the Association, from
time to time.
To promote, foster and advance Islam and religious objects consistently with
Shariat Mohammediyah and the Fatimi philosophy, culture and traditions.
To promote and foster the Islami way of life and conduct consistently with
the guidelines set out in the Preamble to this Constitution and to strengthen
and maintain that way of life.
To advance and promote any other activity for the religious, cultural,
educational, medical, and social benefit and advantage of the Dawoodi Bohra
Community.
To promote, foster, encourage and aid the application and implementation
of the concept and philosophy of charity as conceived by Islam and al-Quran
including the Islami concept of giving and receiving Qarzan Hasana. (loan
without interest) and the establishment, maintenance and support of funds,
schemes or institutions for the purpose.
To advance and propagate education and learning in their widest connotation
including the establishment maintenance and support of educational institutions
and prizes and including the advancement or promotion of literature in all or
any language and specially the Arabi literature.
To provide medical relief including the establishment, maintenance and support
of institutions or funds for such relief such as hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries, health units, clinics and the like.
To relieve poverty including the establishment, maintenance and support of
Institutions or funds for the poor.
To acquire for the use and benefit of the association moveable and immovable
property by way of gift, grant, donation, subscription, purchase, lease, exchange
bequest or in any other way.
To sell, mortgage, transfer, let out or otherwise transfer all or any of the movable
or immovable property belonging to the Association.
To manage, invest and otherwise deal with the monies belonging to the Association
Provided that no investment shall bear or yield interest in any manner.
To collect and receive funds as Hub, Sabeel ul-Khair wal-Barakaat and by way of
donations, gifts, and subscriptions made by the members of the Dawoodi Bohra
Community on auspicious, ceremonial, religious and other occasions.
To solicit, obtain and accept subscriptions, donations, grants, devices, bequests, and trusts from the government or local authorities or any Dawoodi Bohra person or from any firm, corporation or institution, managed, directed or controlled by any Dawoodi Bohra person or persons. Provided however that no subscriptions, donations, grants, devices, bequests and trusts from a person other than a Dawoodi Bohra or from any firm, corporation or institution managed, directed or controlled by any person or persons other than a Dawoodi Bohra shall be accepted without the consent of al-Dai al-Mutlaq being previously obtained.
To make representation to the Government and other authorities in all matters pertaining to the Dawoodi Bohra Community of Bombay. Provided however that no representation which affects, pertains to, involves or relates to the Shariat, religious faith, tenets or customs of the Dawoodi Bohras shall be made without the consent of al-Dai al-Mutlaq being previously obtained.
To expend such of the monies, income and property of the Association as may from time to time be determined by the Association for the benefit and the interest of the Association.
To appoint Committees and sub-committees for all or any of the Association with such powers as may be delegated by the Association.
To aid any other society or association or individual to promote the objects of the Association.
To preserve and aid the development of Fatimi culture and literature and establish suitable institutions for that purpose.
To establish centers and institutions for social welfare of the Community.
To settle disputes amongst the members of the Dawoodi Bohra Community if approached by the parties concerned.
To frame bye-laws and to make rules and regulations for the conduct of the Association, Board of Management, Committees, sub-Committees and Mohallah Tanzeem Committees and to vary and alter the same from time to time.
To do all such matters and things and to take all such other action as may appear to the Association to be in the best interest and to the best advantage of the Dawoodi Bohra Community consistently with the aims and objects set out hereinbefore.
